Bridge is the world’s most challenging mental sport - a game of skill, communication and infinite possibilities.
It’s part mathematics, part logic, part reason, and embodies cooperation and problem-solving (though a little luck also helps).
It is an easy game to learn, a hard game to master and you don’t have to be an expert to enjoy it!

Bridge is one of the few games played today by people of all ages and nationalities. (DP)

Our Clubhouse Project

Latest Milestones:

  • In early March our interest-free loan was approved by Council
  • We also submitted and paid for our Development Application (DA) using the NSW Governments's new Planning Portal
  • Tony and I signed the Agreement with Council and the Lease (of the land).

Next step: We hope to start construction soon after the DA is approved.

Exciting times!!

Hello there!

Thanks for visiting our website. The Southern Highlands Bridge Club (SHBC) is a friendly and active duplicate bridge club that warmly welcomes players of all standards.

Now that COVID-19 restrictions have eased somewhat, we have been able to re-start face-to-face bridge, with appropriate precautions. Registration for sessions on Monday and Saturday afternoons, as well as Wednesday evenings, is currently open only to members. Please register via the links provided.

Our club sessions on Bridge Base Online are currently suspended.

While the COVID-19 situation remains fluid, we have also tentatively re-started our sessional red point championship competitions and our trophy events, beginning with the Iredale Teams. We hope to be able to run our various full day red point Pairs and Teams championships later in the year. The situation with respect to our very popular annual Congress remains uncertain.

In the midst of COVID-19, last year's Congress was run for us by MasterBridge Online, over the weekend of Saturday 7 November and Sunday 8 November 2020. It was a great success. Results are here.

Playing online or face-to-face bridge, we recognise that the game at our club is not just about competition but also about enjoyment and social interaction. We encourage all our participants to show respect and friendliness both to partner and the opponents.

Hope to see you at the bridge table very soon!

Restricted Pairs Championship

* This will be held over two sessions on 17th and 24th May.
* The winner will be the highest total score over the two weeks.
* Red points will be awarded both days.
* With the club's stars excluded, this is a great opportunity to earn red points.
* If you have not played a championship event before this is a great way to start.
* You don't have to play both weeks.

Open Side Game

If we have exactly 16 players we will run a teams session on each of the two days. With less than 16 players (or more), it will be a pairs competition with imps scoring. If we are able to run teams, entry will be as pairs who will then be randomly formed into teams. If you can't play both weeks, substitutes will be acceptable.

This should be two fun days of bridge for everyone. Enter here.
